Nach meinem Gespräch mit Peter Ottmann am Freitag habe ich nun postwendend von Barbara Boeck eine Antwort bekommen, die ich euch natürlich nicht vorenthalten will. Es zeigt, daß dieses Thema auch bei der Messe Nürnberg eine hohe Bedeutung hat und es bleibt zu hoffen, daß in Zukunft die Aussteller immer mehr auch auf die (noch) erlaubten PLA Kunststoffe zugunsten natürlicher Ressourcen (z.B. essbare Waffeln als Schalen, Bambusblätter etc.) verzichten werden.

Hallo lieber Herr Braun,
Peter Ottmann bat mich, mich mit Ihnen in Verbindung zu setzen bezüglich des Themas Plastik-Geschirr auf der BioFach, das von unseren Ausstellern verwendet wurde. In Ihrem Blog lese ich zudem, dass Ihnen an einem der Stände – noch dazu einem ‘fairen’ – Nestle-Cafe ausgeschenkt wurde.
Zu beiden Aspekten habe ich im Hause Antworten gefunden. Selbstverständlich liegt uns viel daran, bei der BioFach in allen Facetten konsequent und authentisch zu sein. Dazu gehört auch – Sie haben da völlig Recht – eine Stimmigkeit in den von Ihnen angesprochen Punkten.
Aus ökologischen Gründen dürfen auf der BioFach nur Mehrweggeschirr oder kompostierbares Einweggeschirr verwendet werden. Die Aussteller sind hierüber informiert, da dies wortwörtlich so im Service-Handbuch für Aussteller steht. Ebenso dürfen keine Getränke oder Essen ausgegeben werden, das nicht Bio ist. Dass diese Dinge auch eingehalten werden, dafür sorgen über 20 Standkontrolleure während der Messelaufzeit. Diese entfernen zu bemängelnde Produkte – oder auch Geschirr – von den Ständen und bieten den Ausstellern Alternativen an – z.B. kompostierbares Plastik. Ebenso informieren sie darüber, wo diese zu bekommen sind. Zur BioFach 2009 wurde beispielsweise von einem Stand Einweggeschirr aus PET entfernt, da wir dies nicht akzeptieren können. (Während PLA, das biokompatibel ist, erlaubt ist.) Ein Aussteller hatte Gästen konventionelle Chips angeboten, auch dies wurde untersagt. Alle Stände wurden kontrolliert und die Standkontrolleure sind angewiesen die Umsetzung unserer Vorgaben streng zu kontrollieren. Wenn uns dies – wie im Falle des von Ihnen erwähnten Ausstellers – nicht gänzlich gelungen sein sollte, so ist das natürlich äußerst bedauerlich. Ich denke wir lernen daraus, dass wir richtig damit liegen, bei den Standkontrollen nicht nachzulassen. Bei uns soll überall wo Bio drauf steht natürlich auch Bio drin sein. Schließlich ist es genau das, was die BioFach auszeichnet. Mit ihren strengen Zulassungskriterien hat sie sich ein weltweites Alleinstellungsmerkmal erarbeitet. Ein Vertrauen, das die Kunden in uns setzen, und das es selbstverständlich nicht zu enttäuschen gilt.
